Military Training Establishment of Zambia (MILTEZ)..

previously called School of Military Training (SMT) was originally established by the British under the Zambia Defense Force on the Copperbelt in Kalewa Barracks. After independence in 1964, SMT continued operating in Kalewa until need arose probably due to its centrality to relocate it to Central Zambia Kabwe. After a resolution we made to shift the School, houses and offices in Kohima were constructed and completed in 1970. The School of Military Training (SMT)was changed to Military Training Establishment of Zambia (MILTEZ) on 27 November 1973. Since then MILTEZ has trained military personnel both local and foreign and had earned regonition as an reputable training institution in the Southern African Development Community (SADC) region and the whole of Africa.
