Disaster Management

We are always prepared to provide assistance in the event of a small or large scale National Emergency.

  • From accidents, natural disasters, to humanitarian assistance both local and overseas, sickness and disease outbreaks we are ready to meet every challenge.
  • Well trained and prepared for any disaster relief operation.
  • Our task is to tackle the causes of the national disasters and respond rapidly to prevent them in future.

Operational Duties

The Zambia Army is actively engaged in local and national operations across the country and the globe.

  • Designed to overcome threats across the full spectrum of operations including all hybrid threats in the same time and space.
  • Operations in the land environment cannot be conducted in isolation of the Air, Maritime and Cyber domains, all these strands are pulled together.
  • Operations could be conducted independently or with key allies like the United Nations.

Training

In the Zambia Army, training starts from day one and it continues until the day you leave. We have the following types of Training:

  • Regular Officer Cadet Training.
  • Specialist Officers Training.
  • Late Entry Officers Training.
  • Regular Soldiers Training.

The Zambia Army has become more global in its perspective, its operations and its partnerships.

COMMANDERS URGED TO PRIORITISE TROOPS’ WELFARE

Army Commander Lieutenant General Sitali Dennis Alibuzwi has officially opened the 2022 Command Council at Army Headquarters in Lusaka, with a call for Commanders at various levels to prioritise the welfare of men and women under their Command. Lieutenant General Alibuzwi urged the Senior Officers to promote a reading culture and spirit of oneness among personnel under their Command. He instructed the Council to ensure that Army directives are effectively communicated to Officers and Soldiers in their respective jurisdictions. He informed the Council, which is sitting up to Friday, 30 September, that in a quest to actualize the approved 2000 Army Establishment and conform to modern military trends, Command has introduced new Branches and Directorates......

ALAZ VISITS THE NSAMA ACCIDENT SURVIVORS AT UTH

Army Ladies Association of Zambia (ALAZ) members have today visited survivors of the Nsama-Nsumbu Road Traffic accident admitted to the University Teaching Hospital (UTH) in Lusaka. ALAZ is a non-governmental, non political and non-profit making association whose membership is composed of wives of Army Officers and Soldiers. The Ladies, who were led by the Association’s Patron Mrs Stella Alibuzwi, took time to pray for and interact with all the four patients. Mrs Alibuzwi, who is wife to Army Commander Lt Gen Sitali Dennis Alibuzwi , said the ladies decided to visit the accident victims to give them hope and show them love. She expressed happiness that all the four survivors admitted to UTH are responding well to treatment and are out of danger. The Association presented hampers of assorted food and non-food items to the patients.....

Zambia Army Commander Lieutenant General Sitali Dennis Alibuzwi is among the many Aviation, Defence and Security stakeholders attending the 2022 International Air show Africa Aerospace and Defence Exhibition which was launched on Wednesday, 21 September 2022 at Waterkloof Airforce Base in Pretoria, South Africa. The five day exhibition is running under the theme, “Exploring New Paths, Sharing Solutions, Showcasing Innovation and Capabilities”, and is comprised of world class air demonstrations, parachute drops, aerobatics display and many other static displays from some of the biggest names in the aviation and Defence Industry.....
